ORT Uruguay (Spanish: Universidad ORT Uruguay) is Uruguay's largest private university. It has about 11,000 students, distributed among five faculties and institutes.
History
ORT Uruguay was first established as a non-profit organization in 1942 and was officially certified as a private university in September 1996, becoming the first private educational institution in the country to achieve that status. It is a member of World ORT, an international education network founded in 1880 by the Jewish community in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
