Nyaksimvol (Russian: Няксимволь) is a rural locality (a selo) in Beryozovsky District, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Russia, located on the left bank of the Severnaya Sosva River, 60 kilometers (37 mi) southwest of Khulimsunt. Postal code: 628143. Dialing code: +7 34674.

Etymology

Its probably derives from the Mansi words nyakhsyam ("gills") or nyaksi ("dirt") combined with vol ("reach"), and hence means either "Gill reach" or "Dirty Flatwater."[citation needed]

Climate

Nyaksimvol has a subarctic climate (Köppen climate classification Dfc). Winters are very cold with average temperatures from −24.2 °C (−12 °F) to −14.9 °C (5 °F) in January, while summers are mild with average temperatures from 11.2 °C (52 °F) to 23.3 °C (74 °F) in July. Precipitation is moderate, and is somewhat higher in summer than at other times of the year.
