Nuestra Belleza Latina (English: Our Latin Beauty) is a beauty pageant and reality show produced by Univision.[1] 12 young women selected by the judges compete for the title of Nuestra Belleza Latina, as well as winning cash prizes and becoming a personality for Univision. It's hosted by talk-show host and actress Giselle Blondet, who does the audition process and is also the mentor of the winner for the year of reign. The first season premiered on March 27, 2007 and was one of Univision's highest rated shows. The opening theme for casting till the finalist has been performed by past winners Alejandra Espinoza, Melissa Marty, Greydis Gil, Ana Patricia Gonzalez, Nastassja Bolivar and Vanessa De Roide. When the finalists are chosen, the opening theme changes showing each contestant, excluding eliminated contestants. It is distributed by Univision including Puerto Rico, it's also distributed in Mexico by Televisa.

The current Nuestra Belleza Latina crown holder is Marisela Demontecristo from El Salvador.

After casting in six different cities in the United States and Puerto Rico between 12-14 finalists move to a mansion in Miami and live together where they receive different classes of dancing, runway, diction, teleprompter and physical training. The finalists then compete against each other every week in different challenges. After each episode of the show is over, the audience at home gets to vote for their favorite contestant by phone or text message. The audience is meant to vote based on the delegate, and not their nationality, therefore it is allowed to have more than one contestant from the same country or have the same nationality. Week by week the 3 finalists with the least votes are in danger, meaning that one is saved by the other contestants, another by the judges and the one left is eliminated, although in some rare cases, a contestant might be disqualified (2009 & 2011) and replaced by a semifinalist. Or a double elimination occurs (2011). The show runs between 11-13 episodes, having the auditions be in the first three episodes, or in some cases all castings in one. Following that the girls are narrowed down to six finalist (2007–2010), as of Season 5 only four finalist compete in the finale. The winner of the contest wins a contract to be one of the new personality faces on many of Univision's programs and award shows, as well as other contracts for different sponsoring companies, a chance to win more than $250,000 in cash and prizes and be crowned and reign with the title of Nuestra Belleza Latina for a year. In 2010 as an added bonus the runner-up was given the opportunity to become a hostess of Sabado Gigante and a grand prize of $50,000 dollars.
