NuBlues is a blues/hip hop band formed in London 2002 by producer/musician Ramon Goose and musician/engineer Ed Vans
Biography
NuBlues was founded by guitarist Ramon Goose and bassist Ed Vans, who recruited rapper Jay Nicholls, and drummer Paul Francis.
Nublues pioneered their own contemporary blues and hip hop style with their debut album 'Dreams of a Bluesman' released in 2004. Following on from their success, NuBlues released a second album 'Snow on the Tracks' in 2008. They toured extensively throughout Europe and made several National TV and Radio appearances.
NuBlues were discovered by Grammy Award-winning artist Chris Thomas King, known to many for his performance in O’ Brother Where Art Thou, but well known also as a performer in his own right. King signed NuBlues to his Louisiana-based label 21st Century Records. French record label 'Dixie Frog' signed Nublues in 2005, signing 'Dreams of a Bluesman', and 'Snow on the Tracks' in 2008.
The band split in 2008 after touring and promoting the release of "Snow On The Tracks". Ramon Goose went on to produce the world music collaboration "Mansana Blues" with Senegalese Kora player Diabel Cissokho released in 2010 on Dixie Frog Records, as well as work on his own solo project. Ed Vans turned his attention to sound engineering, running his own Recording Studio based in Essex, UK where he engineered and mixed the acclaimed 'Mansana Blues' album, and Ramon Goose latest release 'Uptown Blues' in 2011. After a short reunion tour of France in 2012 the band has no further plans to tour or record. As of 2013 Ramon Goose is working on a new project called Desert Rock (Band)
