Nokpul is a census town under Habra police station of Barasat sadar subdivision [1] in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Nokpul had a population of 6647. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Nokpul has an average literacy rate of 81%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 85%, and female literacy is 77%. In Nokpul, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Healthcare

North 24 Parganas district has been identified as one of the areas where ground water is affected by arsenic contamination.[3]
