Nogent-le-Roi is a commune in the department of Eure-et-Loir in the Centre region in northern France.

It is located some 20 kilometres north of Chartres and a shorter distance to the southeast of Dreux.

Royal deaths

The first king of the Valois dynasty, Philip VI of France died at Nogent in August 1350, his father, Charles of Valois, himself also having died here in December 1325.

International relations

The town is twinned with Heddesheim near Mannheim in Germany.
