Nobunagun (ノブナガン Nobunagan) is an action manga series, serialized in Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star from 2011. An anime television series adaptation by Bridge began airing from January 5, 2014.

Plot

Shio Ogura is a Japanese high school student, who is visiting Taiwan on a school trip when she is suddenly attacked by monsters called "Evolutionary Invasion Objects." Agents known as "E-Gene Holders" from the government agency DOGOO also arrive, who wield weapons infused with the spirits of historical figures. Shio is revealed to also be an E-Gene Holder when the soul of Oda Nobunaga awakens after she tries to rescue a friend.

A student from Japan who attends an all girls school, she is also E-Gene Holder of Oda Nobunaga. She is very clumsy and a bit of an air head that most of her classmates, except for Asao, would stay away from her. However, she is a kind, loyal friend. She was the only one of Asao's friends willing to go back to save her in the first episode. She is an excellent fighter, and is noted by many for her sniping talent. She has a fascination for military equipment that her classmates would find it weird. She was forced to join DOGOO, after the Kaohsiung incident.

She is the most popular student in Ogura's school and she is only one who befriended Ogura during the school's field trip to Kaohsiung Taiwan ,it was the invasion of the Evolutionary Invasion Object at Kaohsiung that has led Ogura to rescue her and eventually activate her E-Gene upon bumping into Jack the Ripper who was then wounded after failing to notice another monster attacking him.

Anime

An anime television series adaptation by Bridge began airing from January 5, 2014.[1] The opening theme is "Respect for the dead man" by Pay Money to My Pain. Funimation will stream the series on their video website, beginning on January 6.[2]
