Nivas (born Srinivasan Ragunathan) is an Indian playback singer in South Indian films.
Career
Nivas has sung in all four south Indian languages. He has sung for leading composers such as A.R.Rahman, G.V. Prakash Kumar, Vijay Antony, Harris Jayaraj, Karthik Raja, Vidhyasagar, James Vasanthan, Thaman, M.Ghibran, C.Sathya, D.Imman, Gopi Sunder and Sachin jigar. His Malayalam debut song for Vidhyasagar Nilamalare from the movie Diamond Necklace was a hit.[1]
Awards
Nivas won the Best Male Playback Singer at the Vanitha Film Awards, for Diamond Necklace. He won Best Upcoming Male Singer (Malayalam) and Best Singer- Male (Malayalam) Awards at Mirchi Music Award South 2013 for Diamond Necklace. He has been nominated for Filmfare for "Nilamalare".
