Nicolae Ciupercă

Nicolae Ciupercă (1882 – 1950) was a Romanian General during World War II. He served as Minister of Defence from 1938 to 1939 in the government of Miron Cristea, He commanding the 2nd and 4th Armies during the early years of the war. He retired in 1941, but after the communists came to power, he was captured and put in prison in 1948. On May 25th, 1950, he died in Jilava prison.[1]
