The Nevada general election, 2014 will be held on November 4, 2014 throughout Nevada following early voting from October 18 through October 31, 2014. All voters who wish to vote in the general election must register by October 14, 2014. The close of registration for electors in the primary election is May 20, 2014. Early voting for the primary election will take place from May 24 through June 6, 2014 and the primary election day will take place on June 10, 2014.
Candidate filing for non-judicial offices is from March 3 through March 14, 2014.
Federal Representatives
United States Senate
U.S. Senator Harry Reid is a Class III Senator and will be eligible for re-election in 2016. The Washington Post has reported Senator Reid will retire at the expiration of his current term.[1] U.S. Senator Dean Heller is a Class I Senator and will be eligible for re-election in 2018.
United States House of Representatives
All of Nevada's four seats in the United States House of Representatives are up for election in 2014.
State Executive Branch
Governor
Incumbent Brian Sandoval will seek re-election. Chris Hyepock is the only Democratic candidate seeking election. David Lory VanDerBeek is the only Independent American candidate seeking election.
Lieutenant Governor
The current Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki is prevented from running for re-election due to constitutional lifetime term limits. Krolicki has not announced any plans after his term ends on January 5, 2015.

- Bob Goodman, former Nevada State Development Director and a 2006 and 2010 losing Democratic primary candidate, is a declared candidate.[2]
- Tom Collins, current Clark County Commissioner & former Assemblyman, is a potential candidate.[3]
- Lucy Flores, current Assemblywoman from Las Vegas, is a potential candidate.[4]
- Susie Lee, Communities in Schools Nevada Board President, is a potential candidate.[5]
- Republican primary
- Mark Hutchison, current State Senator, is a declared candidate. He announced his candidacy via Twitter and was quickly endorsed by Governor Brian Sandoval.[6][7]
- Sue Lowden, former Nevada Republican State Party Chair, State Senator and Republican primary candidate for U.S. Senate in 2010, is a declared candidate.[8][9]
Secretary of State
Democratic incumbent Ross Miller was first elected in 2006 and is prevented from running for re-election due to constitutional lifetime term limits of eight years in the Executive Branch.

- Kelvin Atkinson, current Nevada State Senator from North Las Vegas, is a potential candidate.[11][12]
- Republican primary
- Barbara Cegavske, former State Assemblywoman 1996 - 2002, term limited State Senator 2002 - 2014, is a declared candidate.[13]
- Brian Krolicki, former Nevada State Treasurer, current Nevada Lieutenant Governor, is a potential candidate.[14]
Attorney General
Democratic incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto was first elected in 2006 and is prevented from running for re-election due to constitutional lifetime term limits of eight years in the Executive Branch. Ross Miller is the only Democratic candidate to have announced his intention to run to succeed Masto, Adam Laxalt is the only Republican candidate to have declared.

- Travis Barrick, Las Vegas lawyer and nominee for Attorney General in 2010, is a potential candidate.
- Greg Brower, State Senator, is a potential candidate.
Treasurer
Democratic incumbent Kate Marshall was first elected in 2006 and is prevented from running for re-election due to constitutional lifetime term limits of eight years in the Executive Branch.

- Dan Schwartz, past candidate in the Republican primary for Nevada's Fourth Congressional District, is a declared candidate.[19]

Democratic incumbent Kim Wallin was first elected in 2006 and is prevented from running for re-election due to constitutional lifetime term limits of eight years in the Executive Branch.

State Legislative Branch
Nevada Senate
Eleven out of twenty-one seats in the Nevada Senate are up for election in 2014. Six of the seats are currently held by Republicans and five are held by Democrats. Democrats currently hold a one seat majority in the State Senate.
Nevada Assembly
All 42 seats in the Nevada Assembly are up for election in 2014. Democrats currently hold 27 seats and Republicans hold 15 seats.
State Judicial Branch

Incumbent Justice Kristina Pickering has filed to run for re-election.[24]
Supreme Court Seat D
Incumbent Justice Mark Gibbons has filed to run for re-election.[25]
Ballot Initiatives
Intermediate Appellate Court
Senate Joint Resolution No. 14 of the 76th Session creates an intermediate appellate court between the District Court level and the Nevada Supreme Court. After passing through the 76th Session in 2011 with a vote of 48 in favor, 13 against and two excused,[26][27] and the 77th Session in 2013 with a vote of 61 in favor, none against and two excused,[28][29] Senate Joint Resolution No. 14 will be placed on the 2014 General Election ballot for popular vote to amend the Constitution of Nevada.
Margins Tax
The Nevada Margins Tax Initiative is on the 2014 ballot in the state of Nevada as an indirect initiated state statute. The measure seeks to implement a 2 percent margins tax on businesses in the state for education. The measure was introduced by the state AFL-CIO, lead by Executive Secretary Treasurer Danny Thompson. Initiative Petition No. 1 was forwarded to the Nevada Legislature from the Secretary of State's office after qualifying for the ballot for legislative action. The Legislature did not act on IP No. 1 within the framework pursuant to Article 19, section 2 of the Nevada Constitution and automatically goes on the ballot in 2014.[30]
Mining Tax
Senate Joint Resolution No. 15 of the 76th Session proposes to amend the Nevada Constitution to remove the separate tax rate and manner of assessing and distributing the tax on mines and the proceeds of mines. After passing through the 76th Session in 2011 with a vote of 40 in favor and 23 against,[31][32] and the 77th Session in 2013 with a vote of 43 in favor, 19 against and one excused,[33][34] Senate Joint Resolution No. 15 will be placed on the 2014 General Election ballot for popular vote to amend the Constitution of Nevada.
