NeuLion (pronounced "new lion") (TSX: NLN) is an Online Video technology company headquartered in Plainview, New York, USA. The company provides digital solutions for the delivery, distribution and monetization of live and on-demand content across Internet-connected devices.
History
NeuLion was founded in 2004 as a privately held company by a group of experienced technology experts. Nancy Li serves as CEO; Michael Her serves as EVP of Research and Development; Ron Nunn serves as EVP of Business Operations and Chris Wagner serves as EVP of Marketplace Strategy. In October 2008, NeuLion finalized a merger with Internet streaming company JumpTV Inc.[1] combining technology and client partnerships in sports, international and variety programming. In July 2009, JumpTV Inc. changed its name to NeuLion, Inc. and continued trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the new name and new symbol NLN.[2] In November 2009, NeuLion acquired Vancouver based webcasting company Interactive Netcasting Systems Inc. ("INSINC")[3] which held among other properties, eight North American based hockey leagues. In October 2010, the NeuLion closed an acquisition of TransVideo International Ltd.[4] TransVideo is a Chinese based IPTV technology provider and a manufacturer of set top boxes utilized by the company.

NeuLion operates across three major markets: Pro Sports, TV Everywhere and College Athletics. NeuLion has approximately 300 employees and principal offices in Plainview, New York and Sanford, Florida and additional offices in Toronto, Ontario, London, England, Shanghai, China, and Vancouver, Canada.

Technology & Service
NeuLion operates under three distinct products: NeuLion Sports, NeuLion TV Everywhere and NeuLion College. According to its promotional material, each product provides a "scalable suite of digital services that offers an easy work flow to deliver content to multiple Internet-connect devices".[18] Within each product, NeuLion’s cloud-based technology platform includes end-to-end services from video ingestion and transcoding, through metadata management to distribution, monetization and content analysis.
NeuLion supports numerous revenue business models with a comprehensive billing and reporting system to help manage user accounts through multiple monetization options that include, but not limited to, subscription management, pay-per-view, authentication and advertising.[19]
NeuLion’s architecture supports content delivery to multiple platforms through applications and browser based devices including PC, mobile phones, tablets, third party set-top boxes like Apple TV and Roku, gaming consoles like Xbox and PlayStation, and Smart TVs;[20] each with its own device-specific application and experience.
