Nelson Kumah (born 14 February 1975) is a British radio producer working on Geoff Lloyd's Hometime Show broadcasting on Absolute Radio. His association with Lloyd began on the 6th of January 2008 working as the replacement for Tony Moorey who left The Geoff Show on the 20th of December 2007. He grew up in St Johns wood and Maida Vale, and then gradually moved to Queens Park, and more after that Shepherds Bush, where he famously lives now.

Kumah's ancestry is from Ghana, West Africa.

Education

Nelson Kumah went to university at Brunel, there he studied American Studies and history. His personal highlight of his University years was scoring the winning goal in the final of the British University Football final of 1998.

Career

He worked at a bookshop and a cinema for four years, he changed career to become a radio producer. Geoff Lloyd set up Nelson's work experience in 2003 where, on Saturdays, he worked on the Rock’n’Roll Football show with Dominic Johnson.

He later decided to work on BBC Radio Sport at Radio Five Live, this job lasted him four years. He also he reported at the Athens Paralympics and interviewed Sir Alex Ferguson. Nelson returned to Virgin Radio to work on the Geoff Show in January 2008.

At the time Tony Moorey was working on The Geoff Show he set up a feature called The Dead Of The Night in which Tony tells the listeners about a historical life and they have to guess how that person died in order to win prizes. Since Tony left Geoff was trying to think of a feature for Nelson to fill that time. He was originally thinking of creating something called Nelson's Column but thought that was too low-brow. So, instead, Geoff came up with a feature called Nelson's Last Orders where Geoff gives Nelson a list of requests which Nelson will then go and complete and report back his findings on air, e.g. "What kind of curtains does Pam St. Clement have in her house?". After a while Last Orders was scrapped because Nelson found it too hard work, it was replaced by an unnamed feature in which Annabel and Geoff would ask him questions and he would have to lie, latching on to the fact that Nelson found it hard to tell any lie or be dishonest. Such as "Who do you hate more your father or Robert Mugabe?" which Nelson would answer "My father". This feature was scrapped because Nelson did not like being dishonest. Currently they have a feature called "Nelson's Special Offers" in which Nelson is set a place and a business and has to heckle a discount with the business in that place. His ideal date is said to be Kate Moss after it was revealed on Absolute radio.

On September 29, Kumah and the rest of the team moved the new drive-time slot, known as Geoff Lloyd's Hometime Show, with Kumah reading sports news.

He recently, however, left the show, without explanation or any form of goodbye.
