Neil Parrott (born July 30, 1970) is an American politician who represents district 2B in the Maryland House of Delegates.
Background
Born and raised in Maryland, Neil Parrott graduated from Old Mill High School in 1988. He went on to the University of Maryland at College Park where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 1994. Mr. Parrott obtained his Professional Engineers License in 2000. He later attended graduate school and in 2006 graduated from Mount Saint Mary's University with an MBA.
Work Experience
Parrott began his career at the Maryland State Highway Administration where he concentrated on Traffic Engineering. He went on from there to become the Deputy Director of Public Works for the City of Frederick.
After that, Mr. Parrott began working full time at the company he formed called Traffic Solutions Incorporated(TRSI). TRSI is a traffic engineering company that serves traffic needs in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.

In the legislature
Parrott was sworn in as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates in January, 2011. He was assigned to the House Judiciary Committee.[2]
Marriage Equality
In 2012, Parrott was one of the leading opponents to equal marriage for gay and lesbian couples. Through his website, MDpetitions.com, Parrot was a primary organizer of the petition drive to nullify same-sex marriage legislation that was signed into law by Governor Martin O'Malley on March 1, 2012. The law was affirmed by referendum on November 7, and goes into effect January 1, 2013.
