Neha Kapur (Hindi: नेहा कपूर; born c. 1984) is an Indian model and former beauty queen who won Femina Miss India in 2006 and represented India at the Miss Universe pageant that year. She is married to Kunal Nayyar, best known as the awkward astrophysicist Raj Koothrappali on the hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
Early life
Kapur was born in New Delhi to a Punjabi Hindu family. She learned classical dance[1] forms when she was very young. She has four years of training in Bharatanatyam and eight years in Kathak.[1] Kapur holds a degree in fashion design from the Pearl Academy.
Career
In addition to winning the main Femina Miss India Universe 2006 crown, Kapur also won the Femina Miss Fresh Face and Femina Miss Photogenic awards in the pageant.[2]
Kapur represented India at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant held on July 23 in Los Angeles, California, United States.[3] She made the semis to the top 20 and competed in the swimsuit competition. She had a red gown during the evening gown portion in the presentation show.
She is an established runway model in India and has been signed since April 2003 with Elite Model Management.[citation needed]
Personal life
She married actor Kunal Nayyar on 22 December 2011, in India.
