German–occupied Europe or Nazi Empire refers to the countries of Europe which were occupied by the military forces of Nazi Germany at various times between 1939 and 1945.They were deemed powerful for that they used diplomacy and military to take over most of the territories throughout Europe. The well-organized manner of taking over Poland was known as the German Blitzkrieg, which was known as the lightning war due to the rapid manner of attacking. At around April 1940, there was a moment of calmness, which was known as the phoney war and that’s when the Germans invaded Denmark and Norway. By 1941, Germans were deemed unstoppable caused they were invading cities after cities, which included Yugoslavia and Greece, thus claiming thousands of prisoners of war. In terms of the Holocaust, it refers to the killing of the Jewish people, which occurred once most of Europe was taken over by the Germans.
As the Germans took over countries on the eastern hemisphere, through the use of the German Blitzkrieg, the Germans became very powerful, thus forming the Axis powers. As powerful the Germans were, it took the Allied countries to face them and prevent the Germans from having absolute power under the Hitler regime. In terms of his regime, Hitler was the political leader of Germany and he had in mind of taking over as many countries as possible to achieve the status of ruler of the world. Through his powerful army, Hitler became close to achieving his goal, but as mentioned before, the Allied powers confronted the Axis powers, thus leading to the initiation of the World War II. Some countries started the war as Allies of the United Kingdom or the Soviet Union, and were forced to surrender, or were subdued and then occupied. In some cases, the governments went into exile, or governments-in-exile were formed by some of their citizens, in other Allied countries. Other countries occupied by the Nazis were officially neutral. Some occupied countries were former members of the Axis powers, and were occupied by German forces at a later stage of the war.
