Nau gaja Peer,(Hindi: नौगजा पीर),Naugaja was saint whose height was 9 GAJ(Indian Metric Unit)= 8 meters/36' and stayed in Haryana Near Shahbad markanda. Naugaja Peer's Tomb(30.0936126N 77.809875E) is situated at Nh-1 in India near Punjab Haryana Border. Notable thing is that this place has a Muslim and Hindu unity mark i.e. a Muslim saint's tomb and a Shiva temple. People go to both places and ask for their wishes.

Also, Nau Gaza Peer is a pilgrim center located in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh located at National Highway 73 that connects Roorkee in Uttarakhand to Panchkula in Haryana. The highway is 188 km (117 mi) long, Both Hindus and Muslims visit this place. The most notable feature of this religious spot is a 26 ft long mazaar which appears to be of a different size each time it is measured. Numerous legends and myths are associated with this peer. One such version is that during the period of Musa Ale Salam, the height of a man used to be around 26 ft and these mazars have been built around that time.

History

The baba (Naugaja Peer) lived in Shahbad district of Haryana at around 500AD. he was a miraculous man as he followed both Hindu and Muslim Religions. There is a Historic Bridge called Naudara(nine way-ed Bridge) at his Tomb. The tomb is around 37' in length and is 15' below the present National Highway. this site is declared Tourism Site By Haryana Govt. and will be constructed soon. Presently this site is looked up and managed by Aman restaurant and Managing committee. Also Naugaja Peer Baba ji live at Mirjapur Majra, Teh. Naraingarh,Distt- Ambala.... Jai Peer Baba ji.. [1] Many Politicians and passengers offer prayer at this holy place.[2] This is also a must visit place for taxi drivers from north and south India.[3] Also this is helpful to tell directions.[4] Lord Sheshjnaga is said to have once appeared at the site of Nau Gaja Peer. During 1881, Baba Tara Singh was the head of the shrine who descended into Samadhi in 1911. In 1954 Mata Sharda Devi Ji headed the shrine who descended into Samadhi in 2008.The Peer Shrine was renovated with Pucca walls during 1933-34 by a British Officer. Baba Vinay Shukla is in charge of maintenance since 1984. Dogs and cows enjoy their daily bhandaaraa consisting of milk and wheat. Plus, as a routine, sparrows get grains from devotees. It is believed that people who come for Darshans wholeheartedly get what they want.

Hindu History

This place was called 9 way-ed/Naudara(Named after Nine Daytes/Devis) and was situated in front of a Shiv temple where later the Muslim Saint came and stayed. Nowadays this Naudari is used as a Bridge.
