From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nashiri E-publishing House is a free, non-profit, non-governmental electronic library and electronic publishing house. It's the first Arabic website to combine the services of publishing houses and libraries on a single site. The contents of Nashiri are available free of charge.

History

Nashiri is an Arabic word meaning "my publisher." The idea behind the name is that "each writer can claim that he/she has his own publishing house... Nashiri also aims at offering -electronically- diverse materials free for everyone" according to Hayat Alyaqout the 24-year-old founder and editor-in-chief.

Nashiri was launched on July 4, 2003 and quickly grew up to include more than 120 e-books, 100 writers from all over the Arabic speaking countries, and over 2000 articles.

Slogan
