The prince was a key figure when Thailand went through an industrial revolution during the reign of Rama V. Other than being of royal birth, he was known for his artistic talents.
Early life
Prince Narisara Nuvadtivongs was born on April 28, 1863, in Bangkok, Thailand. The son of King Rama IV(a.k.a. King Mongkut) and Princess Pannarai, Prince Nuvadtivongs was educated by western missionaries. Due to these western influences, Prince Nuvadtivongs developed his passion for Art.
Career
Government worker
Meanwhile, Prince Naris was given more responsibility in government. He was appointed as the director of Public Works and Town & Country Planning for the Ministry of Interior. He worked in Thailand's early urban planning. In addition, he also became Art Adviser for the Royal Institute of Thailand. Over the years he also worked for the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defense, and Ministry of Bureau of The Royal Household.
Designer
Prince Naris was passionate about the fine arts since his school days. When Thailand began to modernize and created its first European style government ministries, Naris was the person who created the Crest for each Ministry.
His Notable Architecture
Wat Benjamaborpit (the marble temple) is the first temple in Thailand to use marble in its construction. This temple is sometimes credited with being the definitive guideline for a modern Buddhist temple.
Wat Benchamabophit School is located next to Wat Benchamabophit. However, unlike the temple, the school was built in western-style. Phraubosotwatrachativas is also a temple made of marble, but the style of the building combines Western and Thai-styles. The interior contains oil paintings similar to western medieval churches, but in Thai style.

- "Sansoen Phra Barami" or Royal Anthem
- "Khamen Sai Yok"
