Nansana is a town in Central Uganda. It is located in Wakiso District and is one of the five (5) municipalities in the district. The five municipalities in Wakiso District are:
- Entebbe Municipality
- Kakiri Municipality
- Kira Municipality
- Nansana Municipality
- Wakiso Municipality
Location
Nansana is located on the main highway between Kampala and Hoima. The town is located approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 mi), by road, northwest of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. The coordinates of the town are:00 22 12N, 32 31 30E (Latitude:0.3700; Longitude:32.5250).
Population
In 2008, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBS), estimated the population of the town at 79,100. [1] In 2011, UBOS estimated the mid-year population of the town at 89,900.[2]
