Nanotoxicology is a peer-reviewed, scientific journal which focuses on research relating to environmental and human exposure, hazard, and risk of use and applications of nanostructured materials.[1] It publishes research that addresses the potentially toxic interactions between nanostructured materials and living matter. The journal publishes the results of studies that enhance safety during the production, use, and disposal of nanomaterials. The editor-in-chief is Håkan Wallin (National Research Centre for the Working Environment, Denmark).[2]

According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2011 impact factor is 7.844, ranking it third out of 85 journals in the category Toxicology[3] and ranking it seventh out of 69 journals in the category Nanoscience & Nanotechnology.[4]
