Namitha Pramod, is an Indian film actress, who appears in Malayalam films.[2] She made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Traffic.[3]

Early life

Namitha Pramod was born in Thiruvananthapuram as the daughter of Pramod, a businessman and Indu, a housewife.[4] Namitha is currently settled at Thiruvananthapuram. She has a younger sister Akhita.[5] She completed studies at Carmel Girls Higher Secondary School in Thiruvanathapuram.[6]

Career

Namitha started acting when she was in seventh standard by taking on roles in serials such as Vellankanni Mathavu where she played the role of Mathavu, Amme Devi where she played the role of Devi and Ente Manasa Puthri where she played Anjali.[7] She made her debut in films when she acted as Riya, daughter of Rahman and Lena, in Traffic directed by Rajesh Pillai.[8] She made her debut as a heroine in the Malayalam film Puthiya Theerangal with Nivin Pauly.[9] Her next film was Sound Thoma with Dileep. Namitha's third film as heroine was Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum with Kunchacko Boban in which she played a Mohiniyattam dancer.[10] She was not trained in Mohiniya­ttam and learnt the dance steps in Saranya Mohan's dance school in Alappuzha for four days.[11] Her upcoming film will be Lijin Jose's Law Point in which she plays a modern, city bred girl named Maya.[12][13]. She was part of Superhits like Sound Thoma and Pullipulikalum Attinkuttiyum in 2013 and was selected as Top Star (Female) 2013 in Malayalam. [14]
