Nambucca (venue)
Nambucca is a live music venue in Holloway Road in London. Since being rebuilt following a fire it now houses 2 rooms, a front bar area and a rear venue. It is popular with up-and-coming bands and hosts nightly music nights.
The Holloways were formed at Nambucca and despite moving onto bigger venues, still return to gig there.
In the mid-early two thousands, Nambucca arguably housed the beginnings of what eventually became the London nu-folk scene,[1] with artists like Frank Turner, Marcus Mumford and Laura Marling performing there throughout much of the noughties.
Nambucca burned down overnight on December 17, 2008 and reopened December 3rd 2010 with the official opening night on December 17, 2010, 2 years to the day of the fire.[2]
