Imratul Najwa Binti Abdul Latif (born May 23, 1995) or better known as Najwa Latif ^[1] is a Malaysian singer. Najwa Latif also one of the teen idol in Malaysia. She became popular after her first song titled 'Cinta Muka Buku' (Facebook Love) got attention from the public, becoming the best song of the year.

Career

Najwa first learned how to use a guitar when she was 14 years old. She kickstarted her career by performing a cover of her favorite song which she uploaded into YouTube. Najwa's actually one of many Youtube singer-wannabe and after her single Cinta Muka Buku was released it was very well received as it was uploaded to YouTube for a pre-listen and the views it getting was approximately 9000 views and can be consider as a good sign in Malaysian market. The song and lyrics of the song were written by Najwa.

Until March 2013, Najwa able to maintain a consistent position in the Malaysian music radar when all the singles released since debut went on to finish first major chart. According to Najwa, this single is very meaningful to her, as it marked her first steps into the Malaysian music industry as well as to finally fulfill her dream and ambition of becoming a singer. It is also a gift for her fans who have long awaited for her single and showed their support towards her long before she became an established singer.

Najwa have be courted by NAR Records for auspices of the artist in 2011 and the Cinta Muka Buku also released by NAR Records.^[2]

Early life

Najwa Latif is the third of four siblings ^[3] and comes from Batu Pahat, Johor. All her family have talent in music like Najwa she can play guitar and also can write a song.

Najwa also good in academics, she achieved 7A 1B in Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) when she was 15 years old. She received her secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (P) Temenggong Ibrahim, Batu Pahat, Johor and in her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) she got 4A and now she is studying at UNITAR International University in Foundation in Management.^[4]

Popularity

Najwa Latif also known as "Gadis Youtube" gaining her popularity through her music videos and manages to get thousands of views. If according to the amount of views on Youtube, there are many songs reached and exceeded two million. Not only for her songs, but her cover videos also reached more views. It is shocking because she actually beat some of the legendary and renowned singers such as Dato' Siti Nurhaliza, Shila Amzah, Yuna, Awie and Amy Search.
