Nagrakata is head quarters of Nagrakata (Community development block) in Malbazar subdivision of Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal, India.

Tea Research Association is located here.

Geography

It is located at 26°54′0″N 88°55′0″E / 26.90000°N 88.91667°E / 26.90000; 88.91667 at an elevation of 214 m above MSL.^[1]

Location

National Highway 31C passes through Nagrakata. It is a station on the New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar-Samuktala Road Line.

There are many tea gardens in this block, like Chengmari T.G, Kurti T.G, Bhagatpur T.G., Nagrakata T.G, Jiti TG, Hope TG, Naya Sailee TG, Hilla TG, Grassmore TG, Ghatia TG, Looksan TG, Dharnipur TG. etc.

Ninety percent population of this block is completely dependent upon the Tea Gardens and the majority of the tea garden resident population is TRIBAL. So, the economy of this block is largely factorised by the Tea Gardens.
