Naft Tehran F.C. is an Iranian football club based in Tehran, Iran. They currently compete in the Iran Pro League. They are owned by the National Iranian Oil Company.
History
In 1950, National Iranian Oil Company decided on starting a football team. On 28 June 2010 Naft Tehran secured promotion and thus played in the Iran Pro League in the 2010–11 season for the first time in sixty years. During the 2011-12 season, Naft Tehran considered moving cities because of poor attendance but it was later denied. In that same year Naft Tehran almost made the Asian Champions League for the first time. Missing out on the last day of the league as they finished 5th.
