The NH7 Weekender is a three-day indie music festival was first held in the city of Pune, India.[1] Martin Elbourne, Vijay Nair and Stephen Budd put on the inaugural edition of the festival from December 10–12 in 2010 at Koregaon Park, Pune. It is organized by Only Much Louder's festival division and was voted "India's best music festival" by CNNGo in 2011.[2] The festival is sponsored by Bacardi. The second edition which was held from the November 18–20, 2011, saw over 25,000 fans attend the festival. The 2012 edition of the festival was held in New Delhi and Bangalore as well. The festival offers special discounts for students and people below the age of 21. Single day tickets are also sold.[3][4]
History
The festival started off with a very basic idea that people who love different genres of music or love all can come together at one festival. The driving force behind festival Vijay Nair, believes in providing the best experience for both the fans, and the artists.[5] The festival was also started because of lack Indian festivals that concentrate on non-Bollywood music.[6]
Stages
The NH7 Weekender features the following stages where artists from various genres perform simultaneously.
- Bacardi Black Rock Arena
The Bacardi Black Rock Arena features acts from the heavy metal/alternative rock genres.
- Eristoff Wolves Den
The Eristoff Wolves Den features the mainstream electronica acts.
- The Dewarists Stage
The Dewarists stage features folk rock and soul acts.
- Pepsi Dub Station
Pepsi Dub Station features acts from the reggae and dub culture, hosted by DJ MoCity.
- The Other Stage
The Other Stage features upcoming singers/songwriters who can gain exposure through the festival.
- The Together Stage
The Together Stage was a feature of the 2011 NH7 Weekender where all the prominent artists from the Indian indie scene jammed together on stage. The highlight of the stage was a giant ferris wheel which was covered in canvas, and had visuals projected onto it.
Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2010
The first edition of the festival took place in December 2010 at Koregaon Park, Pune. Over 10,000 fans attended the festival over 3 days, with Asian Dub Foundation headlining the event.[4]

Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2011
The second edition of the festival took place at the Laxmi Lawns near Magarpatta City, Pune. At the 2011 edition there were five stages with the addition of the Pepsi Dub Station, hosted by DJ MoCity and The Other Stage which featured Singer/Songwriters from around the world. Other attractions included a Tattoo convention in which 30 tattoo artists participated, including famous international artists such as Darrin White (USA), Larry Brogan (USA), John Montgomery (USA) and Jesus Cabanas aka ‘Sala’ (Spain). The festival was headlined by Basement Jaxx (DJ Set) and Imogen Heap .[7]
The Together stage
The Together Stage was a feature of the 2011 NH7 Weekender where all the prominent artists from the Indian indie scene jammed together on stage. The highlight of the stage was a giant ferris wheel which was covered in canvas, and had visuals projected onto it.[8]
Secret Set by Zero
Mumbai's alt-rock band played a surprise secret set at the Pepsi Dub-Station despite their break up in 2008.[9]

Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2012
The third edition of the festival took place in three cities with the first one being held in New Delhi at Buddh International Circuit on 13–14 October, the second one in Amanora Park Town, Pune from 2–4 November and the final edition in Embassy International Riding School, Bangalore on 15–16 December.
Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Delhi
The New Delhi Weekender was held at Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida on the 13th and 14th of OCtober. The festival was headlined by Megadeth, Kaiserdisco and Hexstatic Presents Holotronica. The NH7 weekender shuttle services operated from Gurgaon, Noida, Pragati Maidan and Lotus Temple and also picked up from and dropped festival-goers back to the stations.[10]

The Bangalore Weekender was held at the Embassy Riding School in Bangalore on the 15th and 16 December. The festival was headlined by Periphery, Testament and Foreign Beggars.

Rockness Monster
In the middle of large artificial lake at the Pune festival venue, artist Chifumi created a huge snake with a hand gesture for a mouth. The whole structure was created using flex and glue being held up by scaffolding.[11]
Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2013
The fourth edition of the festival will be held between October and December 2013.[12] Besides the usual cities of Pune (October 18–20, 2013), Bangalore (November 24-24, 2013) and Delhi (November 30-December 1, 2013), this year Kolkata (December 14–15, 2013) has been added to the list of venues for the very first time.
