NCIX.com (or Netlink Computer Inc.) is an online computer hardware and software retailer based in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, founded in 1996 by Steve Wu (伍啟儀).[1] It has retail outlets in Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond and Langley, British Columbia, as well as Markham, Mississauga and Scarborough, Ontario. NCIX has 3 shipping facilities, one in Richmond, British Columbia, another in Markham, Ontario, and one in Industry, California.

History

Steve Wu was born in Taishan, Guangdong province in 1968.[1] In 1986, he was admitted into South China University of Technology's program for the Design of Chemical Machinery.[1] Three years later, he graduated and immigrated to Canada with his parents. On April 28, 1996, Steve Wu established Netlink Computer Inc.[1] It was originally a single, walk-in retail outlet in Burnaby, British Columbia.[2] In 1997, a website was conceived to provide a growing number of Canadian and U.S. customers access to the store’s large selection of computing products online.[1] In 2002, NCIX began establishing additional walk-in retail outlets in the Metro Vancouver Area. The Vancouver store (located on West Broadway) commenced operation in 2003, while the Richmond sector was opened to the public in 2004. NCIX continued to expand their business and opened a Langley outlet in 2006. When 2010 came around, NCIX grew their retail presence in Eastern Canada with 2 outlets and a showroom/distribution center in Markham and Scarborough, Ontario. They also opened up additional retail stores in B.C., one on Sea Island Way and one in Coquitlam. In 2011, the expansion furthered, they now have another retail outlet in Mississauga, Ontario and a brand new distribution center in California, U.S.A. Their new shipping facility, located in the City of Industry, will allow them to service the residents of the United States faster and more economically. In addition, NCIX opened 2 B2B call centers, one in Richmond and the other in their old (West Broadway) Vancouver store. There is a new, larger NCIX retail outlet in place, 3 blocks West of their old location (now the new B2B call center). Also in 2011, NCIX was the first to open an official Samsung Partnership store in North America, located in Aberdeen Centre, City of Richmond, Metro Vancouver, British Columbia.
