NBRC-NPS

The National Board for Respiratory Care Neonatal and Pediatric Examination (NBRC-NPS) is an examination for the certification credential of respiratory practitioners in the United States. The NBRC-NPS is developed and owned by the National Board for Respiratory Care and administers the examination through its for-profit private stock testing company Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc.

Eligibility

The NBRC requires the candidate be 18 years old at the time of application for the examination and must also be a registered respiratory therapist.^[1]

Post-nominal identification

Those who are actively certified as a neonatal and pediatric specialist respiratory therapist are permitted to use the post-nominal letters "NPS", "RRT-NPS" or "CRT-NPS" depending on their level and preference.
