Muslyumovsky District (Russian: Муслюмовский райо́н; Tatar Cyrillic: Мөслим районы, Latin: Mөslim rayonı) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the east of the republic. The area of the district is 1,464.3 square kilometers (565.4 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Muslyumovo.[2] Population: 21,884 (2010 Census);[4] 22,911 (2002 Census);[7] 23,180 (1989 Census).[8] The population of Muslyumovo accounts for 33.6% of the district's total population.[4]
