Munirabad also called as Huligi is a village in Koppal district in the Indian state of Karnataka.
Demographics
As of 2001 Indian census,[1] Munirabad had a population of 8,113. Males constituted 51% of the population and females 49%. Munirabad had an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy was 82%, and female literacy was 68%. In Munirabad, 12% of the population was under 6 years of age.
Munirabad is mostly an industrial area. It is full of greenery and very peaceful. The Tungabhadra River is situated nearby. A huge dam was built on this river. One can also go to Humpi which was built by Raja Krishna Dev Raya which is near Hospet, if one travels by a car or train from here.
Historic References
When Rama and Laxman were going to find Sita Mata they met Shabri, who was a devotee of Lord Rama, at Pampa Sarover which is near Munirabad. Bali Kila (Bali's Fort) is also situated near this place. One can also visit Rishyamookh Hill where Lord Rama and Hanuman met for the first time.
