Syedna AaliQadr Mufaddal Saifuddin (Arabic: سيدنا و مولانا عالي قدر مفضل سيف الدين)(Abu Jafar-us-Sadiq Mufaddal Saifuddin) is the 53rd Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohras.The Dawoodi Bohras are a sub group within the Mustaali, Ismaili Shia branch of Islam.Mufaddal Saifuddin is also one of the four Omara's(Rectors) of Al Jamea tus Saifiyah.Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin was preceded by his father 52nd Dai Mohammed Burhanuddin.
Biography
He was born on the 23rd of Ramadan al-Moazzam 1365H(20th August 1946, Tuesday) the night of Laylat al-Qadr.[1] He was named by Syedna Taher Saifuddin, who named him by writing a note mentioning 'AaliQadr Mufaddal' ( having top prestige).
As a child, during the era of Syenda Taher Saifuddin, he began the recitation of the Quran in Saifee Villa; Colombo, Sri Lanka. Later on, he learnt the whole Quran, thus becoming a hafiz.
His Misaaq(i.e. Covenant) was taken by Syedna Taher Saifuddin on 27 Zil Qad 1379H, Mumbai.

Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin solemnized his Nikah with Jawharat-u-sharaf Aai Saheba, the daughter of Late Amir ul-Jamea' Syedi Yusuf Najmuddin, on the 1 of January 1970(23 Shawwal 1389).
He has five children:
- Shezada Jafar us Sadiq Bhai Saheb, Wife : Ben Saheba Zainab Binte Shahzada Syedi Shabbir BS Nooruddin DM.
- Shezada Taaha Bhai Saheb
- Shezada Hussain Bhai Saheb, Wife : Ben Saheba Naqiya Binte Shz. Syedi Malekul Ashtar BS Shujauddin DM.
- Shezadi Umme Haani Ben Saheba, Husband : Al Hudood Abdul Qader BS Bin Dr. Moiz BS Nooruddin.
- Shezadi Ruqaiyah Ben Saheba, Husband : Al Hudood Al Aqmar BS Bin Shz. Syedi Qusai BS Vajihuddin DM.
Travels
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin was made Amirul Hajj in 1390 H. After Hajj, he traveled to Karbala, Syria, Egypt and Yemen. During his trip to Yemen, he laid the foundations for the construction of Syedna Hatim's Roza. After that journey Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin entitled him with Aqeeq-ul-Yemen.
Proclamation of Nass (Succession)
Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin suffered a stroke in a London hospital which led his son Mufaddal Saifuddin to proclaim himself as the successor in a London Hospital.http://www.mumbaimirror.com/mumbai/cover-story/A-perilous-transition/articleshow/29266169.cms However, this has not been accepted by Khuzaima Qutbuddin - who proclaims the title of the 53rd Dā‘ī l-Muṭlaq - and a minority of the Dawoodi Bohras. He also claims that the succession was not done in London as he suffered from stroke. Muffadal took advantage of this and declared himself as the successor. − * Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (R.A) was in the hospital at the time. He addressed the Shahzada Sahebs and said “In the name of Allah, I here by proclaim my succession on Bhai Mufaddal”.
− * The witnesses to the Nass were Aaliwaqar Shahzada Idris Bhaisaheb Badruddin (DM), Shahzada Qusai Bhaisaheb Vajihuddin (DM), Shahzada Ammar Bhaisaheb Jamaluddin (DM) and Dr. Moiz Bhaisaheb and Shahzadi Husaina Behnsaheba(DM).
− * Syedna Aaliqadr Mufaddal Bhaisaheb Saifuddin was informed by three Shazada Sahebs.
− * Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin instructed Shahzada Sahebs to inform Mumineen all over the world about his Mansoos (Successor).
− * The proclamation of nass was publicly announced on the eve of Urs Mubarak of Syedna Noor Mohammed Nooruddin (Eve of 4th Rajjab-al-Assab 1432 H).
