The mud darter (Etheostoma asprigene) is a species of perciform fish found in the Mississippi River basin lowlands from Wisconsin and Minnesota to Louisiana and East Texas, and on the Gulf Slope in Sabine-Neches drainages in Louisiana and Texas.[1][2]
