Mrityunjay (TV series)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mrityunjay is an Indian television series based on the celebrated Marathi novel by Shivaji Sawant, produced by Jamshaid Ashraf[1] and directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi.[2] It was telecast on Doordarshan in 1996.[3] The series takes a look at the events in the Mahabharata from the perspective of Karna, a major character in the epic. The thought was originally taken from M.M.Singh and D.K.Gupta.[citation needed]

Though the series garnered many awards at the 3rd Screen Videocon Awards including Best Serial, Best Director (Dwivedi) and Best Art Direction (Muneesh Sappel),[4][5][6] it was abruptly terminated for unknown reasons.[7]
