Motion (conference)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

motion is one of North America’s leading innovative and uniquely intimate events – bringing together an ever expanding scope of the brightest and most creative minds for an annual celebration of who we are: creatives.

The first motion conference was held in 2006, as a regional event taking place in the Southwest part of the United States. The thee day event is now worldwide, and is attended by motion designers, producers, visual effects artists, writers, animators, motion picture title designers, broadcast designers, creative directors, graphic designers and illustrators. motion is held at the historic KiMo Theatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico each year, starting on the first Friday of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

Overview

Some of the highlights of the conference include motionfest, the annual kickoff event including networking and an intimate expo element at the conference, where industry related companies host booths, and demonstrate their products and/or services.

motion speakers are some of the most creative thinkers and innovators today. A concept borrowed from TED, each speaker is on stage for 18 minutes sharing their unique perspective on subjects they’re passionate about. Innovative ideas that revitalize the creative muse. Talks that feed the creative brain. Past speakers include: Karin Fong (Director at Imaginary Forces), Andrew Orloff VFX Supervisor and Owner of Zoic Studios, HUD Designer Mark Coleran, Alex Lindsay (founder of Pixel Corps), Dan Haskett (a former member of Walt Disney Animation Studios) and After Effects experts Trish and Chris Meyer.
