Moselle, Mississippi

Moselle is an unincorporated community in southern Jones County, Mississippi. It is located along U.S. Route 11, north of Eastabuchie and southwest of Laurel. Although it is unincorporated, Moselle has a post office, with the ZIP code of 39459.[1]

The community is part of the Laurel Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Education

Public education in Moselle is provided by the Jones County School District. Campuses serving the community include Moselle Elementary School (Grades K-6) and South Jones High School (Grades 7-12), located ten miles north in Ellisville.

Transportation: Via Air

Air service is provided at the Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport {IATA|PIB}, located in an unincorporated area near Moselle,[2][3] just off Interstate 59 with flights available to and from Memphis via the Delta Connection. The closest full service airports are in Gulfport (about 1 hour 20 mins on US-49), Jackson (about 1-1/2 hours on US-49), Mobile (about 2 hours on US-98), and New Orleans (about 1 hour 45 mins on I-59).

Moselle is near the midpoint of both US Highway 11 and Interstate 59 between two of the largest cities within the Pine Belt region, Laurel and Hattiesburg.
