Monte Sacro is the 16th quarter of Rome, named after the Monte Sacro. It takes its name from the namesake Monte Sacro hill.
History
Construction started on the area known as Città Giardino-Aniene in 1924,following the principles of the Garden city movement. Further expansion took place in the 1960s (Tufello, Conca d'Oro) and Talenti in the 1970s. All these neighbourhoods form part of the 16th quarter of Rome.
