Montazur Rahman Akbar (Bengali: মনতাজুর রহমান আকবর) born 31 July 1957, Akkelpur, Bogra, (East Pakistan) now Bangladesh is a Bangladeshi Film Director and Producer.^[2] He was most successful & popular only one action based film director in Dhallywood.^[3] He started his career as an assistant director under the assistance of legendary film director Matin Rahman, Azizur Rahman, Zillur Rahman, Saiful Azam Kashem & Narayon Ghosh Mita. He was also a freedom fighter of the Bangladesh Liberation War fighting against the Pakistan Army in 1971 Sector Number 7 under the battle of Sector Commander Quazi nooruzzaman. After libartion war he was joined to local theater group Akkelpur Adorsho Club. He was also founded a development NGO in Joypurhat, Bangladesh. He owner of film production company Nayan-Apon Production, Star Plus & Swadhinata Home Box,^[4] Produced several Superhit film.

Stage career

After return from liberation war in 1971 against Pakistan. Montazur Rahman Akbar start her directorial work as a stage/drama director in 1977. He was founder & member of many Stage group. In this time he was work & member of Akkelpur Adarsho Club, Akkelpur MR Collage Club, Chantara Club. He was also work as an organizer of theater play. In 1979 he was moved to Dhaka for Bangladesh film industries.

Film Producing

Montazur Rahman Akbar open production company Nayan-Apon Production, Star Plus & Swadhinata Home Box^[4][11] for producing film.^[7] He was produced first film Kukkhato Khuni with Blockbuster Dhallywood Actor Manna.^[12] Akbar Directed & First Produced this film from lots of struggle. Kukkhato Khuni was become a blockbuster film of dhallywood in year 2000. After success Kukkhato Khuni he was produce some more films under her production company. Also producing short film, documentaries, independent films, feature film from her company banner.^[4][6]

Nayan-Apon Production

After longtime direction Akbar turned producer in 2000 with help from some people like late actor Manna, Moushumi, Razzak, Dipjol, Razib. and other artist. He was huge commercial success her first producing film Kukkhato Khuni.^[8][13] Then he produce Bhoyanok Songghorso, Top Somrat, Action Lady under the banner Nayan-Apon Production. Nayan-Apon production was first film production company by her film career but her financial crises he was left film producing.

Star Plus

Akbar back to Producing in 2008 with Manna in Babar Jonno Joddho^[14] under the banner Star Plus. film was commercial success but critical response for actor Manna death.^[12] after huge straggle he was produce Top Hero with Shakib Khan^[15] in 2010, film was successful business in box office. but due financial crisis & fallen industries. Then he was left producing for financial crisis & fallen industries in dhallywood^[3] after death actor Manna.^[16]

Swadhinata Home Box

Montazur Rahman Akbar open a Production company Swadhinata Home Box^[4][11] in 2012 but doesn't produced any commercial film. Akbar son Apu Monwar & Minhazur Rahman Nayan turned director & editor to make short film, they are also promoted the company. Minhazur Rahman Nayan under the company banner written & directed children live action based short film Tofael the tea stall boy. Swadhinata Home Box^[4] making audience for Bangladeshi film maintain a cine web portal Chitrojogot.com.
