Monacanthus chinensis, the Fan-bellied Leatherjacket, is a species of filefish native to the western Pacific Ocean and the eastern Indian Ocean where it is found on reefs at depths of from 3 to 12 metres (9.8 to 39.4 ft). This species grows to a length of 38 centimetres (15 in) TL. This species is of minor importance to local commercial fisheries.
