MobiTV, Inc. (formerly named Idetic, Inc.) is a provider of end-to-end mobile media solutions. In 2011, the cloud-based MobiTV converged media platform delivered 1.6 billion minutes of live TV, video-on-demand and downloaded content for offline viewing to all tier-one wireless carriers and major mobile operating systems in the United States.
MobiTV-powered services are available in the U.S. from T-Mobile USA, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, AT&T, US Cellular among others, and in Canada through TELUS Mobility.[1] MobiTV delivers such services as AT&T U-verse Live TV, Sprint TV, T-Mobile TV, TELUS Mobile TV, US Cellular Mobile TV and Verizon NFL Mobile Live. MobiTV furnishes programming from more than 40 television channels, offering live news and sports and a variety of full-episode on-demand shows for streaming or download on mobile devices, tablets, personal computers and other Internet-enabled consumer electronics.
MobiTV-powered TV services, which carry the operator’s brand, are accessible on hundreds of devices across multiple wireless carrier partners. MobiTV offers live and video on-demand content from such providers as ABC News Now, CBS, Fox News Channel, Fox Sports, ESPN Mobile TV, NBC Mobile, MTV, Discovery Channel, TLC, The Weather Channel and other television networks.
MobiTV’s converged media platform is an end-to-end managed service comprising components that work together to securely manage, deliver and play back video across devices both inside and outside the home. In 2005, the company, along with Sprint, won the Emmy Engineering Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development" from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Partnerships
In 2012, MobiTV announced partnerships with several technology companies:
Texas Instruments: MobiTV partnered with Texas Instruments for delivery of secure high-definition content on multi-screen devices. The integration of MobiTV’s DRM solution and Media Playback technology with Texas Instruments’ M-ShieldTM security solution enables secure simultaneous playback of up to six live feeds.
Dolby: MobiTV, Inc. is collaborating with Dolby Laboratories to deliver a seamless high-quality surround- sound experience across multiple platforms, including mobile phones, tablets, PCs, Internet TVs and set-top boxes. MobiTV will integrate Dolby Digital Plus into its established DRM-protected content delivery platform to provide immersing surround sound to users across multiple screens.
Amino: MobiTV teamed with Amino to develop a new set-top box experience that will integrate MobiTV’s platform technology with Amino’s set-top boxes to create a high-quality adaptive streaming experience while eliminating the need for managed networks

ASCAP Case
In May 2008, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, or ASCAP, filed an Application for Determination of Reasonable License Fees against MobiTV in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (Case No. 1:09-cv-07071-DLC). A bench trial was held in April 2010 and the District Court issued an Opinion and Order essentially adopting MobiTV’s proposed fee structure. ASCAP filed an appeal from such holding to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit (Case No. 10-3161-cv(L), 10-3310-cv(CON). In May 2012, the Second Circuit issued an opinion affirming the District Court holding.
