Mo Xuanqing
Mo Xuanqing (Chinese: 莫宣卿; pinyin: Mò Xuānqīng, August 17, 834) born in Zhaoqing, Guangdong, was the youngest Number One scholar (in the imperial examination) from Tang Dynasty, in Chinese History. He was known as a talented person from the age of 12. In 851, at the age of 17, he was also the first youngest Number One Scholar (in the imperial examination) in Chinese history since Sui Dynasty and the first Number One Scholar in Lingnan.
In mid-2006, descendants of Mo's came from all over China; especially from Hunan, Guangxi and Guangdong Province, locol's around 15.4 million people, to hold a memorial day with series events for the "1171 anniversary of Mo Xueqing Scholar Celebrations".
Poetry
There are 4 famous poems Mo Xueqing wrote under this title. He composed more than 200 pieces: poems and songs, however, most of his poems were lost and there are not more than 20 pieces remain published in China's literary history such as Complete Tang Dynasty Poetry(全唐詩), Cantonese Poetry Collection(粵詩蒐逸),(封川縣志) and (開建縣志), in today.
