Mo Thugs was an American hip hop collective from Cleveland, Ohio, formed and led by Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Together, the Mo Thugs collective released four studio albums from 1995 to 2003. Their logo, a pyramid with a closed fist above it, is symbolic of their achievements; The pyramid stands for longevity, and the fist stands for victory. Unlike Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Mo Thugs were not on Ruthless Records.

History

Due to their success in 1996 Bone Thugs established their own Mo Thugs Records to introduce many of the Cleveland-based and other artists that they were developing. The group's first album, Family Scriptures was released in March 1996. The album was a success, peaking at No. 2 on both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (held from the top spot of both charts by Tupac Shakur's All Eyez on Me), and reaching platinum status for sales over one million copies.

Mo Thugs followed Family Scriptures in 1998 with Chapter II: Family Reunion. The album featured the collectives biggest hit, "Ghetto Cowboy", which peaked at 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Though not as successful as Family Scriptures, it nevertheless reached gold status for sales of 500,000 copies.

The collective has since released two more albums, Mo Thugs III: The Mothership in 2000, and The Movement in 2003.

Former artists include: Poetic Hustla'z, II Tru, Graveyard Shift, Ken Dawg, Souljah Boy, Tre', Felecia, Skant, Thug Queen, Powder P, Potion, MT5, DJ Ice, Emmortal Thugs, Desperados, Jeremy "J-Bone", Black Hole of Watts, Seldom Seen, Freaky-G, Capone, Thin-C, Big Caz, Skailz, Dirty Red, Big Sloan, Qween Ching, Margarita, Layzie's brother Flesh-n-Bone (who was on Def Jam until 1999) and others.
