Mo-Lin Yu
Mu-Lin Yu (Chinese: 余慕莲, born May 1940) is a Hong Kong actress under TVB management.
Biography
Mo-Lin Yu's primitive name is Zhi-Li Yu( Chinese: 余志雅),and her nickname is YuMao(余毛) . Her mother—Mei-Mei Den (邓美美) is an unfamous actress, and her younger sister—Zhi-Li Yu(余志丽) is a pupil of Cantonese Opera performer Jian-Hui Ren(任剑辉).[1] In her early years, Yu worked as a saleswoman in a department store. She took part in the repertory theatre, and once featured in Taming of the Shrew . From 1979, she began to appear in TVB series. Often, she acts as a street cleaner or a betweenmaid or a country maid or something else. Anyway, she is some kind of a licorice actress. Because she is pretty ugly yet always appearing on TV, almost all people in Hong Kong are very familiar with her and she is thus the representative of ugly women of Kong,[2] but Yu never minds.
