Mircea Sandu (born 22 October 1952) is a retired Romanian football (soccer) player. He was a striker with Sportul Studenţesc, where he played from 1971-1986.
Sandu is president of the Romanian Football Federation since 1990, and was re-elected in 2005 and in 2010. He is currently a member of the UEFA Executive Committee.
He has scored 166 goals in Liga I, being ranked 7th in the all time scoring table, but he has never been the top scorer in a single season.
His nickname is "The Godfather".
