Mirai Ninja (未来忍者, lit. "Future Ninja"), known as Cyber Ninja in the United States,[1] is a 1998 Japanese science fiction action film directed by Keita Amemiya, which was co-produced and released by Namco that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. An arcade game of the same title was also developed and released by Namco.
Plot
A man's body and spirit are taken and used to build a devil castle, which seeks to sacrifice the princess.[2] Cyber Ninja, teams up with the chi pupils (with cyber-earmuffs with matching red icon). They use neo-retro-cyber-antique guns and attack the demon robot expendable ninja squad. Each fight is won by the side which uses more gratuitous special effects. They slay the Tron-like hover droids.

Release
Originally screened in Japan in 1988, Cyber Ninja was released on VHS on July 25, 1995,[3] and on region 2 DVD in 2003 (Japan, Europe, Middle East, Greenland, and South Africa).[2] The U.S. DVD was released in 2009.
Reception
The movie met with largely negative reviews from Western film critics. It currently holds a 44% "Rotten" approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.[4]
