Miodrag Petković (born June 1, 1969 in Belgrade) is a Serbian professional mixed martial artist. He holds wins over James Thompson, Travis Fulton, Tim Hague, Dave Dalgliesh, Konstantin Gluhov, Igor Pokrajac and Domagoj Ostojić.
Being a relative latecomer in the sport, Miodrag made an impact on the European scene. In his home nation of Serbia he is one of the country's best known mixed martial artists.
His biggest successes have come in submission wrestling. In 2007 he finished third at the +99 kg category at ADCC European trials.[1] This qualified him for the ADCC 2007 Championships in the same division, where he lost his first match.[2]
Biography
He started boxing at the Radnički Boxing Club when he was 15 years old, at the same time training wrestling. He later switched to Brazilian jiu-jitsu, naturally adhering to mixed martial arts. Around the year 2000 he started fighting internationally around Europe. He has earned most money fighting in the United States. He usually has four-five personal trainers and in the last 6 years he has been training half of the years in Serbia and the other half in other countries. He trains six days and rests the 7th. Randy Couture is his favorite MMA-fighter.[3]
