Minamiise (南伊勢町 Minamiise-chō) is a town located in Watarai District, Mie Prefecture, Japan. As of September 2012, the town had an estimated population of 13,952 and a population density of 57.4 persons per km². The total area was 242.98 km².
Geography
Minamiise occupies a ria coastal region with numerous deeply indented bays in eastern Kii Peninsula in central Mie Prefecture, bordering Ise Bay on the Pacific Ocean. Parts of the town are within the borders of the Ise-Shima National Park.

History
The area around what is now Minamiise was part of ancient Shima Province, but was transferred to Ise Province during the Sengoku period. Modern Minamiise town was formed on October 1, 2005 from the merger of the towns of Nansei and Nantō, both from Watarai District.

The economy of Minamiise is dominated by commercial fishing. The town serves as a commercial center for the surrounding region.
