Minami-Sendai Station

Minami-Sendai Station (南仙台駅 Minami-Sendai-eki) is a JR East railway station located in Taihaku-ku, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.

Since the tsunami of March 11th the Joban line only goes as far as Watari.

Surrounding area

The surrounding area consists of a Takoyaki (octopus balls) shop and a Japanese style restaurant and Bar. There is also a Seiyu (a supermarket chain) fairly close by.

History

  • September 10, 1924: Station begins operation as Rikuzen-Nakata Station (陸前中田駅).
  • May 25, 1963: Station is renamed Minami-Sendai Station.
