William Michael Smithson (born January 21, 1955 in Centerville, Tennessee) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who pitched for eight years in baseball from 1982-1989 for three different teams.
Smithson led the American League in games started 1984 and 1985. He was involved in the longest baseball game in history between Pawtucket and Rochester. In 2009, he was named to the University of Tenneesee's All Century Team.
