Michael Richman (born June 23, 1985) is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the featherweight division for Bellator Fighting Championships.

Mixed martial arts career

Brutaal: Fight Night

Brutaal Record 6 wins, no losses. Richman's famous one and out dominating style started with Brutaal: Fight Night. Only one of Richman's Brutaal fights lasted into the second round, Richman defeated his opponent two seconds into round two.

Richman made his Brutaal: Fight Night debut on April 25, 2008 with a win against Jason Trett. Richman defeated Trett with a TKO in the first round at 1:45. Sadly, this was the first and only fight Richman's paternal grandfather saw before he passed away a little more than a month later.

Richman's second Brutaal fight on June 27, 2008 against Rob Degroot lasted just forty-eight seconds, Degroot submitted to Richman's armbar.

Mel Ott made it just over a minute in Richman's third Brutaal fight on September 5, 2008, Ott submitted to yet another armbar.

A little more than a month later on December 13, 2008 Deryck Ripley lasted 4 minutes and 50 seconds before he submitted to a Richman Rear Naked Choke.

Chris Coplan submitted to another Richman Rear Naked Choke on February 13, 2009 lasting just over three minutes.

Richman's final Brutaal fight on June 3, 2009 lasted two seconds into the second round. Richman defeated Wes Ronchi with a triangle choke submission.

The Ultimate Fighter

Richman was one of 32 contestants selected to compete on The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck. In his opening bout to get into the house, Richman lost to Aaron Wilkinson by unanimous decision after two rounds.[1]

Bellator Fighting Championships

Richman made his Bellator debut against WEC veteran Chris Horodecki at Bellator 64. In a huge upset, Richman won via KO at 1:23 of the first round.[2]

After his win over Horodecki, Richman competed in the Bellator Season Seven Featherweight Tournament. In the quarterfinal round at Bellator 76, Richman defeated Jeremy Spoon via head KO 23 seconds into the first round.[3] In the semifinals, he faced Shahbulat Shamhalaev and lost via brutal KO in the first round.

Richman proved he was the superior fighter in his Bellator 88 featherweight tournament quarterfinal bout against Mitch Jackson. Richman won a decisive first-round TKO victory. Richman dominated Jackson on his feet, dropping him three times with short left hooks.[4]

Richman faced Alexandre Bezerra in the semifinals on March 7, 2013 at Bellator 92. He won via split decision. He then faced Magomedrasul Khasbulaev in the Bellator Featherweight Tournament Final on April 4, 2013 in Atlantic City.[5] He lost the fight via unanimous decision.
