Michael Matheson (born February 27, 1994) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Boston College Eagles men's ice hockey team. Matheson was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Matheson led the Dubuque Fighting Saints defencemen in scoring in 2011–12, and committed to play with Boston College for 2012–13. He has cited an ability to develop better in the USHL and at college as his motivation for leaving his native Quebec.[1] Following his freshman year at Boston College, Matheson was named to Hockey East's All-Rookie Team.[2]
